Acupuncture is easy, but if you’ve never had it before it’s normal to be a little nervous.
You’ll do great. I’ve been doing this a long time.
At your first treatment, we’ll do the appropriate exams to assess your situation and determine the best course of action.
These exams may include range of motion, muscle imbalance, checking blood pressure, looking at your tongue, feeling your pulse, vision testing, neurological testing, or whatever else is relevant.
You’ll be lying in a comfortable position for the treatment. We might roll your pants or sleeves up to access certain points. Or you may need to remove your shirt so that I can get to your back (just like at a massage).
Acupuncture will be performed, and you’ll have a chance to rest for about 20 minutes. With the rush of feel-good neurotransmitters from treatment, most people doze off during this time.
I’ll check in on you periodically to make sure you are comfortable and don’t have any questions.
When the time is up, we remove the needles, and you float up to the front desk when you’re ready.
